It is important ?

CAS helps the students on the development of the personal skills, and the method that is used to reach this objective is the EXPIRENCE.

Also CAS gives the oportunity of colaborate and help with other persons.

At the same time CAS have the important function of give to the student a "relax" of the academy pressure that IB programe has.

But be carefull CAS is not only a moment for have fun or just breath some fresh air, CAS have an important place with TOK and the extended essay. Remember that if you fail any of those 3 courses you can´t reach and obtain the diploma.

In consecuence of that, enjoy CAS but with responsability :D.

What is the structure?

CAS is divided on 3 areas:

Creativity, Action and Service, this areas have a realtion with specific activities.

Creativity: Is relationed with the arts, dance, photography, organization of events, music and other things.

Activity: All realted to physical activities, like: football, basketball, swimming, judo, Tai-chi, and other things that helps you on the developmen of a healthy life.

Service: A voluntary exchange that means knowledge for the student. Activities like: organization, teach, help the others, and more things are consider on this topic.

The proyect estimulates to the students to:

Show initiative (on what they are doing)

Demonstrate perseverance

Develop skills such as collaboration, problem solving and decision making

What is it?

CAS is one of most important components at the program of IB. Apart of maths, literature, biology, and the other courses CAS is considered with TOK and the extended essay the center of the programe. Is necesary to pass CAS, the extended essay and TOK for reach the diploma.

CAS consist on activities along the program that help you at growing, developing the IB profile that is showed here.

For each expirience you must register your feelings, your problems at the expirience, your posible solutions and of course a reflection of all what you live at the moment.

Don´t forget to mention what atribute of the IB learner profile you are developing and of course, make a relation of that and the components of CAS (im going to mention it at "structure").
